Statement of Faith

11. SANCTIFICATION AND CHRISTIAN LIVING:

We believe that salvation begins a lifelong process of becoming increasingly like Christ.

The Holy Spirit works within the believer to produce holiness, spiritual maturity, character and Christlike conduct. We are called to live lives of worship, obedience, purity, love, integrity, generosity, humility and service.

We believe grace does not give us permission to live contrary to God’s Word; rather, God’s grace empowers us to live transformed lives that honour God.

We don’t simply want people to attend church; we want people transformed by Jesus.

12. DIVINE HEALING AND THE SUPERNATURAL:

We believe that God is our healer and that divine healing is consistent with His character and revealed throughout Scripture.

We believe that God continues to heal, restore and perform miracles today according to His will and purpose. We believe that believers are encouraged to pray for the sick, minister in faith and expect God to move through the power of the Holy Spirit.

We also recognise that God may work through medical practitioners, medicine, wisdom and other means of His provision.

13. THE CHURCH:

We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ, made up of every person who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church. The Church has both a universal expression and a local expression through congregations of believers gathering together for worship, discipleship, fellowship, prayer, teaching, service and mission.

We believe that the church is more than a building, gathering or programme. We are a people and we believe:

• Every person has value and purpose.
• Every generation has a place.
• Every gift matters.
• We are stronger together than apart.
• We don’t simply consume church; we build it together.
• We are not spectators; we are participants in God’s mission.
• People can belong to the community while they journey toward faith and maturity.

14. THE MISSION OF THE CHURCH:

We believe that the mission of the Church is to glorify God, make disciples of all nations and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Church is called to worship God, make disciples, strengthen families, serve people, equip believers, develop leaders, care for those in need and take the hope of Jesus into every sphere of society. We believe the Great Commission belongs to every believer.

Saved people serve people and transformed people transform communities.

15. THE MINISTRY AND CALLING OF BELIEVERS:

We believe that every believer has been created, gifted and called by God and has a meaningful role to play in His Kingdom.

We believe that the fivefold ministry gifts of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers are given by Christ to equip the saints, build up the Body of Christ and prepare believers for the work of ministry.

We believe that leadership exists to equip and empower people, not to replace them. We desire to raise disciples, develop leaders and release people into their God-given purpose and calling.

16. MARRIAGE AND FAMILY:

We believe that marriage is God’s covenant design for the union of one man and one woman in lawful marriage.

We believe that marriage is intended to reflect covenant love, faithfulness, mutual honour and God’s purposes for family. We believe parents have the primary responsibility and privilege of raising and discipling their children in the ways of the Lord.

We are passionate about building strong marriages and families and seeing generations established in faith.

Building strong families is not simply part of our vision, it is part of our heavenly assignment.

17. HUMAN IDENTITY AND GOD’S DESIGN:

We believe that God intentionally created humanity as male and female and that biological sex is part of God’s created order.

We believe that every person should be treated with dignity, compassion, grace and honour because every person bears the image of God. We seek to uphold God’s design for humanity while extending the love of Christ to every person.

18. SATAN AND SPIRITUAL WARFARE:

We believe that Satan is a real spiritual being who rebelled against God and opposes God’s purposes.

We believe that Satan and demonic powers seek to deceive, tempt, oppress and destroy. However, Jesus Christ has triumphed over the powers of darkness, and believers have authority through the name of Jesus and are called to stand firm in faith, truth and righteousness.

19. THE RETURN OF CHRIST AND ETERNITY:

We believe that Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return. We believe there will be a resurrection of the dead, eternal life for those who belong to Christ, and final judgment.

We look forward to the fulfilment of God’s eternal Kingdom, the new heavens and new earth, where God will dwell with His people forever. This hope motivates us to live faithfully, proclaim the gospel, and fulfil our God-given assignment while we are on the earth.

Our Foundation

Faith Church Collective is a Christian church and ministry founded upon the revelation of God through His Word, centred on the person of Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit and committed to making disciples and advancing the Kingdom of God.

We believe that Jesus is first, the Word of God is our foundation, the Holy Spirit is our helper and faith is our way of life.

1. THE HOLY SCRIPTURES:

We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, it is the inspired and God-breathed Word of God. Scripture was given through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is trustworthy, authoritative, and sufficient for faith, doctrine, conduct and godly living.

We believe that the Bible reveals God’s nature, His purposes for humanity, His plan of redemption and His will for His Church. We believe Scripture is to be read, understood and applied in dependence upon the Holy Spirit, who illuminates God’s truth to the believer.

We believe the canon of Scripture is complete and that no additional revelation carries equal authority with the written Word of God.

At Faith Church Collective, the Word of God is our foundation.

2. THE ONE TRUE GOD:

We believe there is one eternal, living and true God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things, who exists eternally as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit are distinct Persons yet one God, equal in divine nature, glory and power. We believe that God is holy, righteous, loving, faithful, sovereign and unchanging.

3. GOD THE FATHER:

We believe that God the Father is the Creator of all things and the Giver and Sustainer of life. Through faith in Jesus Christ, those who believe are brought into a restored relationship with God and become His children.

We believe that the Father loves humanity and desires that people should know Him, walk with Him and experience the fullness of life found in relationship with Him.

4. JESUS CHRIST:

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man.

He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a completely sinless life and revealed the Father through His teaching, ministry, miracles and perfect example.

We believe Jesus willingly gave His life on the cross as the once-for-all and sufficient sacrifice for the sins of humanity. He shed His blood for our redemption, died, was buried and rose from the dead. We believe He ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father and presently intercedes for His people as our High Priest and Advocate.

We believe that Jesus Christ will return and that His Kingdom will ultimately be established in its fullness. Jesus Christ is the centre of our faith, the hope of our salvation and the foundation of everything we are building.

5. THE HOLY SPIRIT:

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity, fully God, personal and actively at work in the world and in the life of every believer.

The Holy Spirit convicts people of sin, leads them to Christ, regenerates and indwells the believer, teaches, guides, comforts, empowers and equips God’s people for a life of holiness and service. We believe the Holy Spirit desires to work through believers through spiritual gifts, spiritual fruit, and empowers believers for supernatural ministry for the building up of the Church and the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

At Faith Church Collective, we are Spirit-led and Spirit-empowered.

6. HUMANITY, CREATION AND THE FALL:

We believe that God created humanity in His image and that every person possesses inherent dignity, value and purpose.

We believe that God created humanity as male and female and established His design for human identity, relationships, marriage and family.

Through the disobedience of Adam and Eve, sin entered the world, resulting in separation from God, spiritual death and the corruption of humanity and creation. Every person is in need of God’s grace and reconciliation through Jesus Christ.

We believe that every person matters because every person is created by God and has purpose in Him.

7. SALVATION:

We believe that salvation is God’s gift of grace and cannot be earned through human effort, good works, religious performance or personal merit.

Jesus Christ paid the full price for our redemption through His sacrificial death and resurrection. We believe that a person receives salvation through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, a person is born again, forgiven, justified, reconciled to God and made a new creation in Christ.

Salvation brings forgiveness of sins, new life, a relationship with God and the hope of eternal life.

8. WATER BAPTISM:

We believe that water baptism is an ordinance commanded by Jesus Christ and is an outward expression of a believer’s faith in Jesus Christ.

We practise believer’s baptism by immersion, identifying with Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. Baptism does not earn salvation; rather, it is an act of obedience and a public declaration that a believer belongs to Jesus Christ and desires to walk in the newness of life that He provides.

9. COMMUNION:

We believe in regularly remembering and proclaiming the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ through Communion.

The bread and cup are symbols of Christ’s body given for us and His blood shed for our redemption. Communion is an expression of thanksgiving, remembrance, faith and fellowship with Christ and with His Church, while looking forward to His return.

10. THE BAPTISM AND EMPOWERMENT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT:

We believe that every believer should desire to be continually filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit for effective Christian living, witness and ministry.

We believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a distinct empowering experience, given by Jesus Christ, through which believers receive supernatural power to become effective witnesses and servants of Christ.

We believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit remain available to the Church today and should operate in accordance with Scripture, love and godly order for the edification of the Church and the advancement of God’s Kingdom. We believe speaking in other tongues is the biblical initial physical evidence associated with the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

At Faith Church Collective, we believe:

Jesus is first.
The Word is our foundation.
The Holy Spirit is our helper and power.
Faith is how we live.
People are our mission.
Families are worth fighting for.
Every generation has a place.
Every believer has a purpose.
Every gift matters.
The Church is called to serve.
The Gospel is for everyone.
Our city is our mission field.
Our generation is our responsibility.
And Jesus is coming again.

We therefore commit ourselves to know Jesus, grow in faith, find purpose, build community and make a difference.
